freak pc
you know ah?
COMPUTERS RAIDED MY HOUSE LA!
and thanks to super-jim who unscrewed them altogether,
the house is now a peaceful and safe again!
....
....
point is, im actually quite a gadgeteer.
but im the, in transformer-ish, megatron, sometimes jazz, but never the cube.
way back time, like 1995-ish, the first family pc was the real ancient one,
running on God knows what processor, prolly the grandpa of the grandpa of the grandmas of all intel chips. it was heck the snail-est pc in the world but at that time, wah! your pc very geng hor? =P
after school, sis and i would always rush home just to press start, highlight the 'paint' program, left click, and we start drawing loads of nonsense while eating lunch. very successful routine.
yes i know, stupid. we bought a pc just for drawing in paint ah?
after a year or so, it was mutually decided that paint was no longer of any attraction AT ALL and we left the pc to rot already. and somehow, that ancient pc mysteriously dissapeared, though there were rumours that dad gave it away.
the next victim came in the year 1998-ish; our first decent computer. it was running on CYRIX (forgot them specs already) and it only had 16 MB of RAM. that computer totally came out from our lifetime hard earned angpow money geh. i played fifa 1998 on that pc wei! haha it was pretty cool actually.
constantly zapping me. somewheres not zipped.
and after a few years, that pc was way too ancient to be used anymore. i think when the new millenium came, we bought our 3rd pc, thanks to the pay-by-EPF scheme. mom heavily subsidised the purchase of that 1.3GHz pentium IV, with 32MB of RDRAM (heck freaking RDRAMs man! haha), 20GB of HDisk, and Geforce2 MX 32 MB (cant remember the name!) or something. to be honest, the deal was actually a pretty sucky one because at that very time, the first editions of them ultra unstable pentium IV was pretty much obselete and we bought prolly the very last one in the market (lol! im exaggerating). but yeah, this pc was really really useful geh; from playing command and conquer (yeah!), super super fast dial up internet access (haha. DUH), to designing the cover pages of the school magazine. this good old buddy is still at home, now branded the family pc for mom to watch her TVBs.
once, moms company was selling their greatest grandpa dells ultra cheap so mom brought 3 CPUs back home! lol. seriously that is the time when the megatron in me was unleashed, totally. bwahaha. they were immediately brought into the operation theatre and slaughtered nicely. curious me.
and then came my pretty baby, dell inspiron 6000. totally obselete now in the market already. i dont want to talk about her anymore other than her miraculous recovery after 200ml of water spilled on her thousands of miles up in the sky. yeappie, the poor baby got soaked for a full 8 hours when i was flying home from aussie, and for a few days the engine started and all, but the LCD went totally blank and the touch pad died too. and somehow after my trip to penang, i came back and everything recovered. lol thank God. =D i even upgraded her, now packed for G cup geh! ahem, mind you, 2.0GB of RAM. =P bwahaha.
oh btw, notebook RAMs are now ultra cheap! i bought 1.0GBx2 for rm 150.00 (DDR2 SDRAM 667Hz). go buy em already! =D.
and of course, my sis's black baby, now in penang with sis. shes well i hope, lol because when the black baby comes home...
*evil megatron-ish grins*
dedicated:
thanks for this, you. love em. xoxo.
