twinky one
so im officially legal. anyone want to do anything to me now? :P
twenty one years old. the big twenty one. and what happened on the day i turned twenty one? lol. i wouldnt say its extraordinary. wouldnt say its happy as well.. but its definitely something very different.
on a sikorsky. :)
heres a paragraph to sum it all:
HSDs, RDXs, conical shaped charges, 7 inch oriented guns, IRDVs, Omegamatic packers, SHRVs, SJB, RA subs, eFires, adapters, slippery rigfloor, elevator, transformer-ish looking driller's chairs, crazy big arms dealing with crazy long drill pipes, stupid itchy brine all over, smelly gases, cranes, sleepless nights, oh sleepless days too, rain and good food, very good rig food. :P
so this is where i celebrated sweet twenty one.
loads of rusty metals, a lot of deep blue sea water, a lot of hairy angmohs, super maju robotics and automations systems, and a bunch of helpful but *cant find a word to describe* workmates. i think theyre generally mean lah, or just trying to pull a new crew's leg all the time.
mi room and mi bed. crashed with the oceaneering guys for a few days.
i am very very tempted to post pictures of the rig, those freaking big arms and what not, but i cant lah. actually i dont quite dare because if those people happens to find out, ill eat grass for the rest of the good years of my life.
the rig i went to was really near to the first platform i went, West Setia SPAR. got a really good view of the FPSO too from the moon pool. and yeah, the moon pool is actually the bottom of the semi submersible rig.
yeah tall tall gigantic drill pipes.
being a fairly simple guy living in city for twenty freaking one years, ive never realized how advanced us human race is. now anytime i see some big uncommon gadgets in the oilfield, ill just sit down and admire it, and be amazed for a long time.
when i went down to the moon pool, this is what i see. i sat down for almost an hour after the job just to admire this - the foundation of the semi submersible rig, prolly accomodates the ballast tanks as well i dont know. but the really blue sea water, and the really big thingee, is really really nice. magnificent. :) or i should say bizarre. really bizarre.
so yeah, that very day i turned twenty one, i helped the crews ignite the explosives and perforate well Wx 05. all 78 guns, each and every with our palm stamps, sent 3.5 km deep into earths stomach and kaboomed. and jim standing up on that rig floor 3.5km away, could hear the explosion. just simply amazing.
yeah so that was how jim celebrated his 21st birthday. no creamy cheesecakes, no candles. just lots and lots of oil, brine and sweat.
well, not complaining. :)
just wishing that everyone is well and fine, everywhere in the world, anytime of the day. :) and oh, please dont simply use oil lah. very hard to extract from earth gah. haha. :P
ps: i just want to dedicate this song to you, one replublic's come home. everything that needs to be said. :) love you.
